In-home visits

 

In-home visit means that one of the stages of a survey is testing a product under home conditions. In-home surveys are chosen to evaluate a product in an environment as familiar to the consumer as possible: at home or during daily activities. In the survey the same principles as in in-hall and blind tests may be applied.

The main difference is that at home, in a familiar environment, a consumer may use the product as he/she is accustomed to, which allows additional observation of usual daily behaviour of a consumer using a certain product. Another important aspect of in-home visits is leaving a product to the consumer for a longer period of time, i.e. to let them use and evaluate the product in different everyday situations. In such case, a survey has two stages: the respondent is interviewed before leaving the product with them and after the testing period of the product.
